We recently brought home a new puppy; and after digging through many online reviews, and having multiple email conversations with a few different vet clinics, I found that, Family Paws Veterinary, fit our needs best. They were quick to respond to my email inquiries, honest with their costs and procedures (which were very fair), and setting up an initial appointment was simple. You can book an appointment using their online portal, or call/contact them directly. They had a good range of available booking slots, and we were able to set one up within a very reasonable time frame. The Family Paws Veterinary Clinic was easy to find, it's located in the corner spot of the strip mall, found at 22 mile and VanDyke Rd; so there is plenty of parking. We all dread the day when we have to make the decision to say goodbye to our pet. I had to put my 16 year old cocker spaniel down and Dr. Liz and staff were so kind and compassionate during such a difficult experience. My Brucey was comfortable and peaceful, and was treated with so much love. Although it was so hard, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience as we helped my buddy cross the rainbow bridge. I highly recommend this office for any and all of your veterinary needs.

We had an excellent experience at Family Paws in Shelby Township! We saw Dr. Lizz Reinke, and both she and the staff were exceptionally professional, relatable, and welcoming. They took the time to answer all of our questions and even engaged with my sons who were in the room, which made the visit feel very personal and comfortable. We brought our 10-week-old Border Collie in today, and we’re already scheduled to bring our Goldendoodle and French Bulldog for future visits. As a professionally trained dog groomer, I’ve interacted with many dogs and seen a lot of handling styles — I can confidently say their handling was calm, skilled, and exactly what I would hope for. Very happy to have them in our community. We couldn’t recommend Family Paws more highly and will definitely be returning!

Being in rescue, I have met a lot of vets. Dr Steffes, who is also a soft tissue surgeon, was our cats veterinarian before she joined Family Paws. We had taken many of our foster kitties to her as well. She's extremely intelligent, has a genuine love for animals, and communicates very well with pet owners. As a kitten, one of our cats was extremely sick for 3 months while under the care of a "cat specialist" clinic. We met Dr Steffes to get a second opinion. After reading his records and examining him, she knew exactly what to do. He was cured in two weeks! Recently, two of our cats needed emergency treatment for different reasons.
