Family Dog Obedience

We can't begin to thank Val and FDO enough! When we got a terrier mix puppy, we certainly had our work cut out for us with training him, but Val has been there for us every step of the way. We took our boy through Puppy School and Graduate Puppy School, and the material and instruction was very thorough and easy to follow. We also did private lessons with Val, and they've made all the difference as our puppy moved into and through different (and sometimes difficult) developmental phases. Thanks to FDO, we have learned so much! Not only is Val extraordinarily knowledgeable, but she truly cares about the dogs and families she works with - and it shows.

We have trained 4 of our Saint Bernards with FDO over the years and the results have been excellent every time. From basic puppy to more advanced lessons every concept is meticulously broken down and reinforced for a successful result. The facilities and staff at FDO are absolutely the very best in all of the greater Pittsburgh area. I give FDO my hearty and highest recommendation.

I attended the place last year when my dog was a puppy.i honestly didn't do good with the hybrid nature of the class. It was kinda hard to correct mistakes that I had made when only going based off the email's instructions with only the 3 in person classes.the instructor was good when in the in person classes. very knowledgeable and helped with using alternatives to certain types of collars/leashes when the one wasn't working/helping. If you struggle learning online/on your own this is not the class for you. Also if you have an older puppy(around 5/6/7months) I definitely would recommend going somewhere else because it's mostly young puppies going to this class.

First off, this is a Fantastic Training Facility! I've been bringing my puppy to classes here since she was 12 weeks old (she is now 1 year). Our first puppy class was a god-send! I left that class with confidence I had made a good decision to bring a new puppy home and go to FDO for training. I also brought home a few commands I could use to better manage my fuzzy-piranha at home. Each week the classes were well organized and the pace was well suited for little brains (and bladders). We have since moved up through Pre-agility and into Agility 1a and my dog and I are having a blast! The skills and behaviors that are taught in the beginning levels set you up for success in whatever your want to pursue with your dog. There are classes for every interest! Overall this is just a wonder

Val and the team at FDO are superior! I have taken classes elsewhere with my older pups, Val's lessons and teachings are nothing short of incredible! Her experience is second to none and she has a method for any issue that comes up. Working both in person and virtually has been an awesome experience and we certainly plan to continue on to agility and other sports. We have finished complete puppy class and graduate class and I could not be happier with our results! Thank you!
