Exercise Finished Dog Training

Just completed the puppy training course with my puppy Mía. My puppy was a scared insecure barking small dog who didn’t trust other people or dogs. By the time the 7 week training course was over she was confident, almost walkable, great with new people and dogs! I would recommend this class and this course to everyone. The trainer was patient, knowledgeable.

They are great, I've learned a lot, but one of the trainers really doesn't know how to be a teacher of humans. She shames you if your dog isn't up to par/can tell if you haven't been practicing, etc. She also doesn't always answer questions well. I am probably a bit harsh because I am an educator myself. I am going to continue training my service dog with them for now, but I feel like I could have a better experience somewhere else or should have done private lessons. They run agility training concurrent with obedience training, and it can often get quite loud. It's not great for my anxiety. I get very overstimulated pretty easily and it's hard to focus and hear the teacher in class. I signed my puppy up for classes not realizing they were on the second floor of the building. Despite trying, my pup refused to go up or down stairs so there was no way I’d be able to take him to class. I canceled with the required one week notice and was told my $50 deposit check would be returned. Almost one month later the check never showed up. I reached out to inquire when the check would be returned and was told they “forgot to get stamps but it would go out on Monday.” It has been a week and I still have not received the check. Incredibly unprofessional! Even if my pup learns to climb stairs I would never take him here or recommend them to anyone! Terrible customer service all around!

I have taken several obedience and now agility class. I have also taken at other training centers locally, but Exercise Finished is my favorite. Very knowledgeable instructors and spacious facilities. Their protocols now in the time of Covid 19 have been excellent and I feel lucky to have gotten into an agility class there. Frequent sanitizing, protocols for entering and exiting, and limits to class size so probably 10+ feet between dogs/owners and other members of class.
