Customer Reviews
I am very impressed with the shelter. I just adopted a beautiful dog who was extremely well taken care of at the shelter. She is at healthy wait, shiny clean, all shots, spayed, nails trimmed, and flea and heart worm preventative was used. This shelter has improved over the years. 10/10
I adopted my boy Moose, a 5 year old lab from here back in April. When I got him he was pretty well taken care of and had healthy weight on him. All of the staff knew all of the animals and their tendencies. I have a cat already so I was looking for a large dog who was friendly with kids and other animals, the staff already knew this about him. He had a skin condition when I got him that was being treated and since then has been almost fully improved, he had no fleas or anything of that nature either. Very kind, clean and helpful facility.
Stopped by to look for a 2nd cat. Had a bounce house, food truck and a few vendors. Free adoption weekend. Yes, you still have to pay for Escambia licensing, etc. $20 well worth it for my new baby girl. Staff is so friendly and really care for the animals. Well worth it to volunteer here and share in the joy. Perhaps after I retire...
Majority of all of them were a pleasure to be around. Super friendly and kind and remembered me as I came in. Within a week I went to visit a dog three times before I decided to take her home and they would allow me to spend time with her til closing every day. Brought us toys and treats and the adoption process was super easy. Even provided me with a collar, outfit and leash that was very fitting for us at the time of adoption. Along with a small bag of food. Provided us with 2 copies of her medical papers one for the vet and my personal keeping. My dog (Latte) also came microchipped and spayed.
Surprised at first to see them so busy, but then after talking to the staff you can see why this is a go-to for animal adoption. I spoke with 2 staff members, both very kind and helpful. Also hot dogs and some lazy cats.
