Erie Canal Animal Hospital

Unfortunately we recently had to put our cat down here. However, the staff was amazing through the whole process. The doctor clearly cared about what she does and felt for us. We have been using this vet for years and don't have a single complaint. They are great with customer service and I wouldn't have trusted my cat to get better care anywhere else. Our cat had surgery here a couple years ago, always got in for concerns, and the staff does amazing with everything. When our hearts our ready for another fur baby this will be our go to. We were unfortunate enough to need an urgent care facility for one of our dogs over a holiday weekend. Thank goodness Erie Canal was open and able to get us right in. The dog needing care is a quite an uncooperative wiggle worm and they were able to staple his wound up with no pain and no anesthesia! He was bad and chewed them out an hour later and they got us right back in again and at no charge the second time. Everyone there was an absolute delight to work with. Thanks for all you do and keep up the good work!

Arrived at 9:50 am for a 10:00 am appointment. Weight and vitals were taken and was advised at 10:02 that the Dr. was just finishing up and it would be a few more minutes. At 10:25 - after no interaction since 10:02 - I went to the front desk to advise them we would have to reschedule as I had not planned for a 30 minute wait after arriving on time. Their lack of communications with the customer for nearly 30 minutes was totally unprofessional and unacceptable. It showed a lack of empathy and concern and severely impacted my confidence in them giving quality care.

I was sad to learn that they will no longer have urgent vet services. They are always welcoming and understanding. The staff is very helpful and courteous. They have always treated our animals like they were their own pets. I cannot say enough good things.

Unfortunately I cannot give a good review regarding my pet's experience with the urgent care. I took in my injured pet and was told everything would be fine, paid $800 for exams, shots, medicine, and then my pet died not even 2 days later. The vet completely misdiagnosed my pet. I am heartbroken and shocked as I trusted this place. They were completely wrong. If you have an injured pet, please consider taking them somewhere else. I was assured my pet was going to be fine but that was not the case. :(
