Emergency Vets

My sweet 12 year old Mini Doxie had been suffering from a bladder tumor. The day after Christmas she got worse, she was unable to urinate, and throwing up. I called first and a nice lady explained the policies and told me to bring her in right away. The nurse and doctor were very kind and explained every detail. I had to make a very hard and sad decision. It broke my heart but I had to let her go. The staff was kind and helpful. Very professional also.

Late on a Saturday afternoon our large breed dog showed signs of bloat. We called and talked to Mary who was wonderful, saying they would be prepared for this very serious condition. The moment we pulled up to the front door, she was out to assist us, asking if a gurney was needed to get him into the clinic. He was seen and treated immediately, and did spend the night for observation. I was texted updates and even a picture ( included in this review) showing that he was resting comfortably so I was actually able to sleep that night. When I picked him up the next morning, the vet on duty took plenty of time to review his care there and recommendations for follow up care with his regular vet. I was given copies of all his records and they took the time to forward them to the vet as well. I n

What's on my mind? Good question!!!! When you take an animal to the vet you trust that they will treat them as good as they can. The vet I used in state of panic and emergency did not. They charged way to much for a one night stay and they didn't even fix the problem. Fastforward a month later to find out my furbaby had a mass on her liver, a mass that they probably seen but didn't say anything. She left us the day it was found by another vet. I say this because I'm still paying a bill on a furbaby that is no longer with me that the Animal ER in Hattiesburg did not fix. I asked the vet if he would do it with her being her age and he said he thought she would recover and do just fine. Playing on people's emotions is not ok!!!! Absolutely do not take you pet there if you love them. Our Lucy rat terrier got sick wouldn’t eat. Called the clinic lady said on the phone 275 for visit so we get there and they take us into a little room. The veterinarian comes in for about five minutes so she thinks she knows what is wrong with her but they’re gonna run a few test on our light blood work and stuff we said OK. The lady from the front desk comes back in and we have to pay $697 for just bloodwork so we pay it because we want to find out what’s wrong with our dog we go back outside and sit in the waiting room. Terrible emergency visit. They made us wait for 2 hours to not even tell me what was wrong with my dog. She had got into some poison and was throwing up blood and they couldn’t even tell me out of 5 possibilities what it might be. I am not a vet and I knew it wasn’t half of the options they were telling me it could be. Just trying to make me spend as much money as possible!!!! I had to bother them to give her some medicine they let us sit in the waiting room while I watched my dog shake and throw up blood. And then wouldn’t even treat her til we paid.
