Ella's Feline Rescue Mission

We had a great experience with Ella's Feline Rescue Mission. I had been following them on social media after working for a real estate agency that gave a portion of commission sales to a charity of the buyer's/seller's choice. Flash forward a few years later, my husband and I decided we wanted to add a pet to our family. I saw a few posts regarding 2 Scottish fold cats that were dropped off to them while pregnant. After the kittens ended up available for pre adoption, we applied. Wouldn’t recommend. When you call, they don’t give you much info of their mission. I found them online, had a cat come to my porch last 2 days nice friendly. Skiddish, but didn’t seem dangerous. Worried cause it’s super cold last few days. Called and guy talking wasn’t very friendly started asking questions. Was giving me the run around about he can only come out if he’s certain the cat is friendly. Long story short they are not willing to come out unless you catch the cat yourself.. and make sure it’s “friendly “ honestly just call TJO. They don’t seem equipped to handling emergency situations. The guy said “we’ll try and pick it up” when I said I would rather not.. (I’m not a cat person, just trying to make sure the poor animal doesn’t freeze.) HE SAID “just try and pick it up… it’s not

I will give them a 3 star because they are doing work to help cats around our area. However, they need to be more open to communicate and respond to the system they have in place for people wanting to adopt. I ended up going through Westfield Homeless Cat Rescue for my adoption after getting ghosted for 4 weeks by this organization. I adopted a cat within 3 days at the one I ended up in. I understand this is tiring, endless work which is why I won't give a too low score, but it would help the kitties to streamline the process.

Had a wonderful experience adopting two cats. A kitten who the rescue had gotten fixed and up to date on shots by the rescue’s vet prior to adoption and another adult cat who had the same done. The man running the rescue has his hands full with so many people dumping cats, even when I was there inside meeting the cats people were dropping off a whole litter of tiny kittens with no mom cat. Seeing a few other reviews about the adoption fee and the owner being “busy”, wanted to put my two cents in and say every single cat and kitten that is brought to the rescue needs a vet checkup, shots, often times being fixed, and then to be fed and cared for, and more if necessary. Amazing!! Iad nowhere to bring a lone stray kitten I caught on a busy road dodging traffic when the shelters were already all closed. I brought him home for a bit but I couldn’t keep him :-( I called and was offered a foster nearby immediately until the rescue open in the morning, even though they usually take older cats! The whole exchange was super pleasant and I’m just hoping the baby finds a forever home now❤️
