Went to get a rabies shot and quick checkup for my 1.5 year old retriever mix. Dr. Jeff Alwen came and didn’t bother to introduce himself to my dog, but instantly cornered him and grabbed him to check him out. My dog was unsure of this and tucked tail and tried to back away slowly and non aggressively. Dr. Alwen said this was bad behavior and we had to muzzle him because of this. I securely held my dog while he gave him the shot. Once the needle entered, he twitched (seems like a standard response to being pricked) and Dr. Alwen instantly backed away, leaving the syringe dangling from the back of my dog’s neck. After this, he gave my dog treats by dropping them for him to catch. I love my dog but he’s not very mouth-eye coordinated so they bounced off his face. Despite this, Dr. Alwen cont

Helped my cat on his diet, and keeps him healthy and happy. Stocks speciality foods to accommodate his diet. Staff are the nicest people on the face of this earth.

We can't say enough great things about the Edna Valley staff and Dr. Alwen! Our dog Cedar tore her ACL and after checking vets in Santa Barbara where we live, Edna Valley's prices couldn't be beat and they got her in for surgery within days and it was very comforting knowing she wouldn't need to wait weeks for surgery. After surgery they were very communicative and even when a complication came up after surgery Dr. Alwen made room in his schedule the next day for our dog, Cedar and even answered emails after hours about our concerns. I made an appointment to get vaccine shots and a check up on my dog they told me $300 , my dog never got the shots !!!! but they still charged me $200 😑 they said we need to get through the process to be able to get vaccine?! But they never said anything on the phone ( terrible service)
