Dr. Richard Wheeler

Dr. Wheeler helped us when it was time for our elderly llama to move on. He was considerate, very knowledgeable, helpful, and very reasonably priced. He was patient with us as we navigated a situation we were unfamiliar with, and had to say good-bye to a very dear pet. I highly recommend his services to anyone needing large animal care in the NOCO region, especially if you have llamas.

This vet, Mr. Wheeler, misdiagnosed an eye condition of a puppy I bought from a breeder he works with in Nunn, Colorado. My veterinarian, as well as an eye specialist, both asked me if I noticed my puppy had a small cataract and a permanently dilated pupil. How would I know this? To have an eye specialist and another veterinarian ask me if I realized this, that tells me that a trained veterinarian should've been able to diagnose this in his sleep- Specifically, when there's a line item asking the condition of the eyes. On the final Vet report given to me by the breeder, everything came back normal, including Mr. Wheeler saying the eyes were normal. Obviously they weren't. Neither this vet (Wheeler) nor the breeder are taking any responsibility for releasing/selling a puppy with a known def

Dr. Wheeler has been the FIRST veterinarian to regard my mini Jersey as more than mere cattle. He regarded her, the patient, with respect and I very much appreciate that. He also seems to be passing this philosophy and practice onto his assistant. His "bed-side" manner is excellent. He is kind and still efficient.
