Love Dogs&Cats Rule for all my more niche pet needs!! When I’m looking for special treats, specific toys/puzzles, a certain brand or something that fits my dog who is outside the range of sizes most chains offer, I’m at Dogs&Cats. I always find what I need here. Staff is generally young, has always been friendly to us as customers. It’s a bit cramped inside and there’s a bunch of loose items, so fair warning if you have any mobility issues or a larger dog.

If you’re in Newtown, definitely go here over PetSmart. They have SO much selection, including niche and better for your dog brands. Plus, their customer service is INFINITELY better — they actually want to help you and your dog / pet. I always have a wonderful time here!

What an amazing store! Lots of selections for my pets and I have gotten their toys, food, and collars/leashes strictly from Dogs and Cats Rule since I’ve found it! Really friendly staff that are eager to help out and give awesome recommendations. I highly recommend this store to anybody in the area!

We will not be back. My wife and I were there with our new puppy on Sunday July 13 2025 at 3:30 - 4:10 in the afternoon. Three to four teenage girls in store all behind register talking. We were ready to make major purchases of high end food and other product$. When we asked about some of the products girls were totally apathetic and visually showed they did not care. The “manager” was not there as the girl speaking with us said she would have to “ask her manager” our pup is only 8 weeks old, someone needs to explain the “lifetime value” of a customer to these kids. Prices are high. I don’t mind paying a premium for customer service but you’re actually better off going to PetSmart. Good Luck.
