Crystal Glen Kennel

Sue Schwartz and Lucy Vondracek are the operators of Crystal Glen Kennel in Fort Collins Co and were not transparent about the seriousness of a health condition of one of their puppies. After we spent $3500 for the dog and an additional $3550 for training (a service we would not have utilized if we had been told about the dog's health conditions), we were informed on the day we were to pick up the dog that there was a serious medical problem. Specifically, the puppy had Cryptorchidism, a condition that is hereditary and seen as the failure of testicle descent (in this case both testicles had not descended). We have been boarding our two Goldens at Crystal Glen for over 6 years (including for two separate 3 week trips to Europe) and have always had a great experience. Sue, Lucy, Tia, Carolyn, and Jasmine have always welcomed both us and the dogs warmly and been very friendly and helpful. The dogs have a great time (they have sent us photos and videos during our longer stays) with playtime and exercise out in the field and swimming in the stream. For us, boarding is a great time to get the girls groomed because we know they've been out playing in the field while they've been there. They always come home clean and beautiful!! My dog has been dayboarding at Crystal Glen for almost three years, and boards here when I am out of town. Caroline, Jasmine and Tia are great with her, and my dog is excited to see them each time! I love that my dog gets lots of exercise in the play yard and on the field walks. Plus, they do an awesome job with trimming her nails when she needs it. My dog has separation anxiety, so it's important to me that she is in a place that feels like a second home. I wouldn't think of going any place else!

Took my American Bulldog there - told them that money was no object, just make sure she was completely taken care of. The girl there told me about certain dog personality traits that no one would of know unless they actually spent time with her. She also noticed that my dog preferred to eat at night which meant she wasn't just a dog that went unnoticed. I do wish there was more grass for the dogs to lay around. On the good side, the dogs always seem happy when they are wandering around out of the stalls.

Saw a women abusing a young golden retriever puppy on their property right by distinctive welding. They walk them daily and this woman shows absolutely no concern for their well being. Do what you can, she needs to be removed from their staff.
