Initially, I loved my experience with this practice during home euthanasia, wellness exams, and general medicine visits. That said, I had one cat die on their table after a routine surgery; the vet told me he simply never woke up, though he was waking from anesthesia at the time. I know the inherent risk of anesthesia so while beyond devastated, I didn't push for more information. I'm still shocked and grieving over that profound loss. Four months later, our other cat went in for a routine dental extraction and he crashed seconds after anesthesia began; thankfully they got him back. I recently moved to Columbia and needed a vet. After a not-so-good experience with another vet in Columbia, I found Columbia Hospital for Animals. I was impressed with the Vet who saw my cat and liked that he explained everything. I since had a need to visit again due a health issue with my cat and met a different Vet. He was also very thorough in explaining what was going on. Aside from the Vets, the front staff and Vet Techs have all been wonderful as well. They explain the services, provide the costs up front, and ask to confirm the services I want to have performed. I HIGHLY recommend this facility!!

I have gone to many different vets due to moving around a bit and I have never had a better experience than here. The whole staff is wonderful. Unfortunately, they were only my vet for the very end of my sweet dog’s journey but I am so grateful to them for assisting me with end of life diagnosis and care. If I get another dog in the future I would bring them here in a heartbeat. All of these folks really care. Also the pricing is very good/fair!

We were in the area for vacation and our "baby" got an ear infection. Dr. Pelleggi was personal and amazing with our Silver Lab, Riley. We think fellow dog owners would be super happy to have all the staff at Columbia Hospital for Animals taking care of their baby!!!

We took our 13-year-old Daschund in for a dental procedure and had a great experience. The doctor was extremely thorough in his explanation of treatment leading up to the event and was very caring following. The office even called to check on our sweet boy a few days after the surgery. We will be back.
