I recently moved to the area and a friend recommended Dr. Parnel. She and her staff have been wonderful! Dr. Parnel is currently helping me navigate a more complex health issue with one of my dogs, and I really appreciate her communication style. She’s clear, straightforward, and compassionate, and she took the time to help me prioritize treatment options in a way that’s financially manageable without compromising care. My other dog can be a bit of a goober who guards food and toys around other dogs, and the staff has been fantastic with her. They’re organized and thoughtful and it shows—even in the way they note and handle her quirks. It’s also refreshing to visit a veterinary clinic that’s actually run by the veterinarian herself. Highly recommend!

Just moved to the area and needed a new vet for our Labrador. After having every portion of his records sent from our previous vet, we chose Chapin Veterinary Hospital. Dr Parnell’s bedside manner was not as we would’ve expected. After a couple of minutes, she stated our dog needs more exercise and “this dog’s scared of everything”. (Not our dog at all) Knowing the anxiety medications our lab was on when she accepted care of him, and after seeing him for the first time, told us to stop one of the meds. We did and he had a terrible time for almost 2 weeks. We put him back on his previous vet prescribed medications and he was back to normal. We recently moved to Chapin and went looking for a Vet to treat our very anxious Silver Lab, Thoe. I accompanied my wife and Theo to his first appt, and was not at all impressed! Dr Parnell likely has the worst "bedside manner" of I have ever encountered in a Vet, and a complete "know it all"...seems to know our dog better than we do! My recommendation is: Keep looking!

I wanted to bring to your attention a significant customer service incident that I witnessed recently which left quite an impression. My wife and I were preparing for a procedure for our girl and had been assured multiple times that no special preparations were required. However, the day before the procedure, an admin called my wife. She was unable to talk at that moment and said she would call back(she works in a school and had students). My wife began calling back after school around 2:30 PM, during normal business hours, and continued to do so until closing time. The following morning, we managed to get through to them at 8:15 AM and were informed that the appointment was also at 8:00 AM.
