I cannot say enough good things about this animal hospital. The compassion every single person there has shown to us has been truly amazing and so much appreciated in our time of incredible grief. We moved to CT Jan 1 and were not yet established with our new vet here when our sweet beloved Gracie took a terrible turn with her health on Jan. 19th. (she was due to meet her new vet the afternoon she died). Our baby was diabetic and had high blood pressure from the diabetes and had struggled with health issues the past 2 years. We almost lost her in December before we moved but she bounced back. We were frequent visitors at our vet back in TN so when she took a turn for the worse on the 19th we panicked and didn't know what to do. On Thursday, our Vet found a mass in Roman’s abdomen.. Roman, my otherwise healthy nine year old best friend. I was crushed, but there were some options, so I went to Central in Guilford to see what our next steps should be. Allie answered my call— I’ll specify that I also called the North Haven location and immediately knew the warmth in Allie’s voice was what I needed. I was quickly triaged (please don’t expect this: this IS an ER vet) and spoke with Dr. Sun. She spoke kindly and directly about the options, and ran extra tests. She could tell I needed more information and that’s because she was 1000% listening to my concerns, and she was also watching my cues and knew when to offer other options. I wouldn't be able to sleep with myself if I didn't leave a review. I met Dr. Sun on Saturday December 27th, the worst day of my life. My nearly 16 year old Puggle, Glenn was not feeling well for a few days. It was a very busy day at the hospital and it was emergency after emergency. The very sweet and kind vet tech took my sweet boy for an exam. I didn't get her name, but she was so very kind. We waited to hear about our boy. When we finally met Dr. Sun, we were informed of his very serious ailments and I had to make that choice. She was so understanding, empathetic and kind during this really difficult time. After facing an ongoing, sort of unknown liver problem with our dog for the last 6 years or so with many different vets and specialists, we feel like we finally have some solid answers after seeing Dr. Gross and her knowledgeable team. She spent a long time with us going over every detail and did not push us to do any unnecessary tests. We felt extremely listened to and heard!
