Candlewood Animal Hospital

All of the staff at Candlewood Animal Hospital are great. The Vets, Techs, and front office truly care about your pets. They make it feel like home when you walk in with your pet. They all try to make the whole process as smooth as possible for you and your pet. My animals can be scared at the vet especially my cat and they still make it as easy as possible for them. I highly recommend Candlewood Animal Hospital.

Absolutely the best! I will never go anywhere else. I have posted a review against Valkey Vet who I took my cat to before coming to Candlewood. Valley Vet totally lacked compassion; they pronounced a death sentence: "She has a malignant tumor, it has traveled along her teat chain, she's going to need surgery and radiation. And here's your cost estimate." A friend recommended Candlewood. In the time that I had taken my cat to Valley Vet and was trying to get an appointment at Candlewood, she deteriorated and crashed. I called Candlewood and they told me to take her to an ER (Newtown Veterinary Specialists, props to them also). In that one phone call, they showed more compassion than Valley Vet had. Dr Maizel and Dr Bakewell are two of the most amazing and compassionate people. Our family has been bringing our pets to CAH since 2008. They have been there for our pets and us throughout the years and are always so kind and helpful. They care for our pets as much as we do. Thank you.

Candlewood Animal Hospital saved my dog’s life! While out at lunch one afternoon, my dog was stung by a bee. Within just 15 minutes, her entire eye and face became terribly swollen. We were away for the weekend, far from our regular veterinarian, so I quickly searched for nearby animal hospitals and found Candlewood Animal Hospital. I raced there, and as soon as we arrived, someone met us at the door and immediately took my dog in. Dr. Maizel cared for her right away and truly saved her life. I can’t thank Dr. Maizel and the amazing staff enough for their quick action, kindness, and compassion. We are so grateful! 🐾❤️

BEWARE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!! I write this review with a heavy heart.. If I could, I would give this establishment a negative zero because they don't even deserve one star from me. I took my small Yorkie here for the first time, because he was not feeling well and was having labored breathing. Before I get into this review allow me to provide a little back history. My dog was ten years old. Has never been sick, never been to the emergency vet, all of his shots/vaccinations were up to date and has had yearly appointments with this vet, also located in New Milford. He was such a joyful and happy dog very playful and full of life still. We took very good care of him and ensured his health was monitored.
