Butte Humane Society

These two almost didn’t make it to Alaska — and honestly, neither would I have without the Humane Society’s help. Our regular vet misbooked their wellness exams, then rescheduled them for just two days before our flight… only to cancel at 7pm the night before. We scrambled, calling 5–6 different clinics, and finally someone suggested the Humane Society (they hadn’t been doing wellness exams the last time I checked, about two years ago). They were amazing — kind, understanding, and incredibly communicative. Even though they were fully booked, they found a way to squeeze us in. When I arrived frazzled and on the verge of tears, they greeted me with compassion and even gave me a big hug. They truly saved the day, and I’m beyond grateful.

We took both of our dogs to Butte Humane for their annual exams. Check in was easy and our wait time was short. This was our first visit and our dogs have a tendency to be defensive at the vet. All of the staff did a great job. The Dr. did everything she needed to while keeping the dogs very calm. Jessica did an amazing job with both of our dogs. The most important part of the vet visit is minimizing the dogs stress and they did a fantastic job. This was the smoothest vet visit we have had in a long time.

I would definitely adopt again from them given the chance, as my cat was adopted healthy and had been living a mostly happy enough life for the two years he was there before I adopted them. It looks like they gave him a lot of medical care and rehabilitated him from pretty bad shape, and now he gets to live out his golden years happily. However, I am disappointed in the outdated perspectives the shelter has on FIV and their perpetuation of the idea that FIV+ cats can never share homes with other animals, and the general stigma with which they are handled. It is not up to date with current veterinary understanding of the disease and results in FIV+ cats having a harder time being adopted, spending less time interacting with people and animals, and being treated unfairly. A couple years ago my cat of 8 years ran away she was gone for 3 months. I needed another cat so I went to the humane society and I was able to get a cat named Frida who has long hair and about 10 years old. It took about a week for her to get used to a new place and all of a sudden my cat Bella comes home skinny sick but I got her up to being healthy in the two of them are sisters beyond words. The other day my oxygen tube fell off and Freda was patting my face while I was sleeping and because of her I am alive. She let me know my oxygen fell off so thank you you guys for a wonderful cat and she spoiled rotten

Poor effort..took a LONG time to respond to answer and give a quick where you like to hear and knowing there so much more wrong with your loving pet..instead to dig deeper . They texted..SMH. I had to go to another vet..bless their heart at paw..amazing! They go extra and see what causes and sit with you with diagnosed. 👏 amazingly..I got all answered. At paws..they speak for the animals and also to the owner with heartfelt.
