Ridgeside K9 NorCal

I brought my one year old spaniel mix, Rosie, to Ridgeside K9 for a 3 week board and train program. We just picked her up this week and she has improved in so many ways! We adopted Rosie from Butte Humane and we wanted to provide her skills and tools and to work with the high energy she has. Walking in the park was difficult with other people and dogs, and she had a hard time being calm in the house or being left alone. Chris her trainer really worked with Rosie and you could tell that she loved him in the videos and updates we received weekly. Now walking with Rosie in the park, taking her to the store, or in public places, she is way more confident and doesn’t pull on the leash. Took my dog Duke to them after we adopted him from the shelter. He had a lot of energy and needed a place to really focus on him and mold him into a good dog. It is a night and day difference what they did over the 3 week course. Ive contemplated sending him back for another 2-3 just to make him the best dog ive ever owned. Would highly recommend for anyone who just doesn't have enough time to develop the foundation needed for your dog.

Ridgeside is absolutely heaven sent! Our boy Rocco was sent to them for a three week board & train program. Over the course of those three weeks, we received updates about his progress that included videos and pictures. They let us know how well he was doing and what their focuses were. They taught him basic commands (sit, down, place & implied stay), rules & boundaries, crate training and walking on a leash without pulling. They also worked so hard instilling neutrality so that he remained focus during his walks and would not react to other dogs or people. The trainers at Ridgeside worked amazingly with him, always keeping our and his best interest at heart. The best decision and money I’ve ever spent was on Ridgeside K9. I was overwhelmed with my dogs behavior and even tried multiple trainers prior to sending my dog on a 4 week board and train program at Ridgeside. I picked up my one year old goldendoodle and it was like he was a whole new dog in the best way. I write this 2 weeks after pick up and sending him to this program has made our home life and my dogs life a happier one. Thank you Elissa and team for bringing the best out of my dog and giving me the tools to continue training him.

I couldn’t recommend Ridgeside K9 more. My girl Luna is a mix of sport and guardian lines, which means high drive, low impulse control, and a LOT of strength. By 6 months old, she was dragging me down the street, chasing our cat, and making us dread being home. She was also resource guarding, to the point where we had to let her keep anything she picked up. Her crate behavior was rough — any noise would set off hours of barking. We truly couldn’t relax in our own home. I called so many trainers and was met with judgment or completely unrealistic expectations. Ridgeside was the opposite. When I explained all our concerns and goals, they took the time to speak with the head trainer and called me back with a realistic timeline for how long Luna would need to stay at board and train.
