Brackett Street Veterinary Clinic

They have been my cats’ vet since 2019, and I’ve been very happy with the level of care they provide. They are attentive, easy to schedule appointments with, quick to respond to emails, and very knowledgeable. They aren’t the cheapest vet in the area but they are far from the most expensive, and the quality of service is very high. I have always felt like they are honest and realistic with recommendations, and they prioritize the animal’s health while taking into consideration the owner’s potential financial limitations. My cats are definitely in good hands here.

Bracket Street Veterinary Clinic has been fantastic for our little fam. We went here for 6 years and we always felt that we and our pup were taken care of. A big shout out to Dr. King and Brook (as well as everyone else on the team) who went the extra mile to help us export our pup to New Zealand (a notoriously onerous process), especially around the holidays! Cannot recommend this vet enough!

I cannot begin to express how impressive this clinic is. Not only the doctors, but every single member of staff (vet techs, front desk) has displayed care, conduct, and service that exceeds anything I have ever experienced at another vet before. There is a profound level of inherent empathy, understanding, and emotional support present during the most challenging situations pet owners have to navigate. For example, today I received the ashes of a recently deceased pet. When I arrived, Brody from the front desk went out of their way to ask me how I would feel most comfortable receiving the ashes and gave me the time needed to process and prepare for this. The veterinarian and the staff were outstanding. We felt very good about them taking care of our two little boys. We just moved here to SouthPortland We spoke to a few other people and they mentioned Brackett Street as well. They were correct. They do a great job one less thing to think about.

I found the front desk folks, assistants and the vet (whose name isn't on the bill and I think should be) very nice. I've been to the clinic twice. I have decided to go to another clinic for the following reasons: no parking; too small waiting area with a bench that is imposssibly uncomfortable; and fees are competitive with fees of other clinics in the immediate area, but still too high. I was charged $26.50 for Drontal (deworming medication) which one can get for $5.50 OTC. I was charged $42.00 for intravenous fluids, which was not necessary. I could well give the cat fluids with a syringe at home. A CBC (bloodwork) was $142.75. It is $109.00 at another clinic not too far from me. They charged me $52.50 for rabies, while at another clinic it is $24.00.
