Dr Smith is absolutely incredible. She’s a great doctor and our dog’s health is measurably improved by having her at the helm of his plan of care. She takes her time and my high maintenance chihuahua, Luke, LIKES her. If you’ve ever known a chihuahua, you know how rare that is. Her bedside manner with my dog has single-handedly allowed him to avoid sedation THREE times. He allowed her to provide hands-on care without any medications! Luke has complex liver and kidney history, so avoiding additional medications is a HUGE deal for us. We love her in a ‘how did we exist before finding her?!’ kinda way. We have been to Blue Pearl in Maitland many times with our dogs since we moved here from Long Island. They have been a consistent and solid 4- 4.5 Star resource. This experience was 5 Star. I called Internal Care Friday morning, about 30 minutes after some alarming results came through on bloodwork and a urine sample (that we brought to our vet on Thurdsay) came in. My vet stressed the need for an emergency ultrasound. I spoke to Beth in IM and she told me she'd try her best... she'd talk to the specialist on duty, Dr Duffy (our dog's usual vet was off) and if she couldn't squeeze her in, they'd ask the E.R. team. We are so happy with our experience with Blue Pearl in Maitland, FL, and we truly believe they gave us more meaningful time with our senior dog, Sadie. After finding an oral tumor in her jaw, we were able to be seen quickly with the radiation oncology team the next day after calling about a consultation. We were seen very quickly for the consultation, and Dr. Villa was direct and compassionate about our options for treatment. We decided to go with palliative radiation (6 rounds), in hopes to give our pup some relief from a tumor that was growing quite quickly. I cannot even begin to express how wonderful my experience was with the team at BluePearl in Maitland, Fl!! During my 9 year old Golden Retriever’s checkup at my regular vets office, we had to do X-rays for a limping issue. From these X-rays, we had an incidental find of a baseball sized mass on her liver. My dog Winnie broke her foot and the staff they took such good care of her for the few months we had to get bandage changes. April was always super kind to us and helped us out And when he was always excited to see her! We had Emily a few times as well and she was great. Front reception was always so kind too and always worked with me with my schedule. The doctors were great, Winnie had an upset tummy and even tho that wasn’t why she was there in the first place they answered all my worried questions and helped us take care of that as well!
