⸻ It’s amazing to think about how long we’ve been coming to Blue Cross Pet Hospital. I first heard about them almost 10 years ago from my neighbor, who told me that dogs should have a dental cleaning at least once a year, or at the very least every two years. At the time, that idea felt so unusual to me. Where I come from, dogs were simply considered pets, and dental care for them wasn’t something people really thought about. Later, I learned the hard truth from friends who had lost their dogs due to severe dental disease—when untreated teeth became rotten, the infection spread into their bloodstream, caused complications, and their dogs passed away. Hearing those stories made me realize how important dental care really is. That’s when I decided to take my dog to Blue Cross Pet Hospital,
Compared to another hospital in the general area of SF, this gem might not be as big, but it just wins every other comparison. I will say vets at all hospitals likely care about animals and want what's best for them, but some hospitals have a corporate culture that leads to optimizing profit so much that one wonders if the vet isn't being influenced to provide more "care" than they otherwise would. Not here. We fortunately haven't had to bring our pet in for anything too complicated or serious, so I can't comment on how they might handle a tough case, but I won't hesitate to see them should something like that arise. We value competence, cleanliness, and transparency above all, and Blue Cross Pet Hospital gets 10/10 in all areas.
I love Blue Cross Pet hospital. I’ve been their client since 2000. Last April my pup came down with a serious blood disorder after a fall and she’s had to see a specialist since then, thankfully she is recovering well, and I can’t wait until we are back there for her outpatient care. There is a big difference between a semi anonymous specialist and a small family run practice where you’re treated like family. I look forward to seeing my family vet again.
Dr Lee took over the business after Dr Wong retired. After caring for a long run of caring for my dogs for over 14 yrs. Remodeled the place with new staff. All the vets are very nice and willing to help. The only con is they are too busy so its a hit or miss to get an appointment within a week.
Love Blue Cross Pet Hospital and highly recommend. I've been taking my rescue dog who doesn't like strangers and vets to this location for almost two years now. The vet and vet techs are all very friendly, thorough in exams/explanations, and takes a balanced approach in recommending procedures, tests, and medications based on risk/pet emotional & physical health/cost. Special shoutout to Pearla who extremely helpful and patient in answering my long list of very thorough questions over the phone. Thank you everyone at Blue Cross Pet Hospital for helping take care of our much treasured dog!
