Best Friends Pet Hotel

Both cat and dog loved their boarding experience at Best Friends. I have boarded two previous dogs there, so I am well-acquainted with their professionalism and warmth and care, but this was the first time for my 3 yr old cat and 1 year old dog. I am so grateful to Kai and Alyssa and their staff who made sure their lengthy stay felt like home. The dog’s grooming was outstanding too!! We are so lucky Best Friends is right here!!

I was quite apprehensive about leaving Misha for the first time anywhere so, I called Misha’s vet and asked her if she could recommend a place. Without hesitation, she recommended Best Friends pet Hotel in Avon Connecticut. I called and asked lots of questions. It sounded right. The morning I dropped Misha off, the attendant assured me that she would be well cared for, and I could call during the week as often as I liked to check on how she was doing. I waited a couple of days before calling and was told that the first day she was Not happy and not eating. From day two on she was happy, loved to play with the attendents and was eating well. Rodney is familiar with Best Friends. He attends Daycare/school/camp there several times a month. He eagerly runs into the dog area. *We missed Rodney while on our short trip. On past boarding nights, we received photos of our happy dog. It would have been nice to receive a picture… we offered to pay for this extra service.

This was an absolutely horrible experience. I have a Rottweiler named coop and obviously some people are fearful of them because they've never had them. Anyone who has knows that they are just big protective babies. I expected a dog hotel to understand that. We walked in and a smaller dog was barking and lunging at coop who was now scared hiding beneath my legs. They then gave us plenty of trouble with paperwork. Coop was scared but allowed some of the staff to pet him. Then a staff member came from the back and started quickly walking towards me and my dog with no warning (I am a teenage girl) and my dog barked at him (no teeth just a warning to stay back). I have never been so disgusted by a place. My family and I sent our Sealyham Terrier here for a TRIM and instead they took it upon themselves to shave him down completely. They absolutely destroyed his coat and coloring. Giving him razor burn all over his face and paws. When I asked for a refund, the manager was both rude and unprofessional. When she called, she already had an attitude stating that she wouldn't talk to me about my our dog. Then she proceeds to try and blame us for his hair cut by claiming that we don't take care of our dog and "bush him." Then to top everything off, she has the audacity to hang up on me after I told her there was no reason for him to come out looking like that.
