Berg Animal Hospital

After my unpleasant visit to Berg Animal Hospital in Matawan, NJ, in June 2025, I felt anxious about my next appointment. However, as soon as we walked in, I noticed that something was different. The waiting room was bright, and the staff at the front desk greeted us with big smiles and were ready to assist. To my surprise, everyone had changed. It felt like a breath of fresh air. From the moment we arrived, I felt reassured knowing my pet was in such capable and compassionate hands. A special thank you to Dr Gorlenko, whose kindness, gentleness, and expertise made all the difference. It is evident how much you genuinely care for your patients, and that brought me great comfort during a difficult time. The Vet was extremely friendly. She answered all my questions and concerns. She took the time to listen. Although I have a snippy dog, the staff handled him with gentleness and kindness. I was recommended this Vet came recommended by a dear friend. Needless to say she was right about how friendly the staff is.

The staff at the Berg Hospital are beyond extraordinary! They are compassionated people who cares not only for the animals but the owners as well. I am personally grateful for the guidance that was provided me to rehabilitate Iman. During my first visit I brought in a 81lbs Cane Corso who was insecure, fragile and fearful of people. However one the last visit, walking through the door was a confident, powerful and trained 123lbs dog. Their medical attention was great but the love and compassion was more powerful. Thank you everything.

This wonderful establishment not only fixes animals, they fix the broken hearts of owners. We had to make the agonizing decision to say goodbye to our sixteen and a half year old miniature poodle, Luke, today, and the amazing Dr. Karen Forbes guided us with wisdom and knowledge that made her seem more like a family member who loved him than a person who provided medical care.

Staff is wonderful, the doctors are both very knowledgeable and patient. They thoroughly explain their reason behind any treatment or diagnostic test they wish to do. My menagerie is more than comfortable here when receiving care here!
