I've been wanting to post a review for a long time. Dr Rau is logical, compassionate, and explains things in a way we pet lovers can understand. I have been taking my 11yo tortie to her for 10 years and, more recently, my FIV+ Tabby, who was diagnosed through Dr Rau, and the condition explained well and thoroughly. Recently, my tortie stopped eating. Dr Rau has been with me every step of the way and gives excellent advice. We are still working through it, but I trust her to guide me to the right decisions on investigation and treatment. I tried a different vet briefly when I got my new cat, because I wanted to cross compare, and was quickly back at Benicia Cat Clinic, because my experience with the other vet was just nowhere near as positive. Everyone there is so kind. Dr. Rau is so gentle with our fur babies..never have had a problem. She examines them and comes back with details. It is very very clean also.I always recommend this veterinary clinic for cats.

The front desk staff are so pleasant and professional and they make you feel welcome right away and are very knowledgeable when answering questions. The doctor is absolutely wonderful. She is thorough, takes the time to listen, and makes sure every concern is addressed. It’s clear she truly cares about both the animals and their owners. Dr Rau did a good job with our cat. She was thoughtful and thorough in her discussion about out cat's health and answered questions that arose during the exam.
