We visited with our dog, Scooby on 1/24/26. Scooby was not eating and was diabetic. They advised us to bring him in. We brought him with our paperwork from our primary vet telling us that Scooby was being treated for a UTI from 1/16/26. Bay Beach talked us through that paperwork from our primary and they told us before any tests were done that our original paperwork was concerning. They gave us options on, ultimately they were not results we were hoping for. It was a mass in his liver, and was internally bleeding. Sadly, we did have to say goodbye to Scooby that night due to the severity of everything. The staff was amazing letting us say goodbye, letting us bring our other dog to say goodbye too. We don’t know what would have happened if we didn’t bring him here. They were gentle, and gav

The entire team that helped us here is spectacular. My family and I had to, unfortunately, visit this team around 3:00AM - 4:00AM on 05FEB2026. We were just trying to make sure that our pet could make it to his in-home euthanasia appointment later that day. This entire team is highly compassionate, empathetic, and communicative. These are all qualities of excellent doctors, vets, and other staff. Dr. Pilossoph was perfect. We could not have asked for a better appointment that we knew would be bad. The team also followed up with text messages to check on our pet and sent us a very thoughtful written card afterward. We've have not had a better experience with an emergency vet. We're very grateful. Thank you all.

Very thankful for the staff at Bay Beach. My dog got into a pack of Gum and ingested a very lethal dose of Xylitol. Unleased Vet (also would highly recommend) Care initially took her and and induced vomiting and ran blood work and got her on fluids and then we transfered her to Bay Beach and they were really great from start to finish. Eloise was in their care for 36 hours and I was able to visit as much as I wanted. There was only one person I interacted with during Eloise time there that I wasn't very happy with but Dr. Colson (sorry if this is spelled wrong) was amazing and took great care of my girl. I know they get a lot of bad reviews for pricing and YES vet care is expensive and do I think its crazy that after midnight the intake exam increases (yes I do) but they still took amazin

Bay Beach Veterinary Emergency Hospital is located in the Courthouse area in Virginia Beach. It's in the same shopping center as the Harris Teeter there. My visits here were on February 4 and 5, 2025. With this hospital being in a shopping center, there was ample parking available. The hospital is fairly easy to find there. In the afternoon on February 4th, Charlie, who is a male maltipoo and only one year old at the time, he was having a seizure of some kind. We first went to Strawbridge Animal Care which is his primary vet location. After a few minutes, they let us know that the on-call vet was out for lunch, and they gave us the info to come to this animal hospital, which would take about 10 minutes to get there. They were notified ahead of time of us coming. Once we got here,

I was there last night and the front office staff were really friendly, caring and reassuring, especially Amy! The office is clean and decorated beautifully. The front office even held my baby with them while I went to the grocery store to get a couple things at the doctor recommended. VB is lucky to have this vet in the area.
