I’m writing this to warn other pet owners, especially bird owners. My aunt took her 17-year-old parrot to this clinic for a simple wing issue. The vet said they needed to use anesthesia to take an X-ray, and my aunt agreed. But what happened after the anesthesia is what caused her bird to die. While the parrot was still unconscious and not fully awake, the vet force-fed her liquid food using a syringe or feeding tube. Within seconds, the bird collapsed and died right there on the table. Anyone who has ever owned a bird knows that feeding them before they are awake can cause aspiration and death. This is basic knowledge — even for non-vets. Instead of taking responsibility, the clinic told my aunt that her bird “had a stroke,” even though the timing made it very clear what actually happe
Dr. Marcucci didn’t actually address anything during my first vet visit. Brought my baby conure here for the first time and the entire time she was just talking about her life instead of actually examining my parrot. Super unprofessional and frustrating. Hopefully there will be another avian vet available in the San Francisco Bay Area in the near future.
Sadly I had to put down my pet hamster. They were very compassionate, first examining him to make sure there really wasn't anything that could be done. They have a private room for you to say goodbye. And they offer to make a little clay plate with your pet's footprints. The receptionist who was working was really sweet and compassionate too.
I have never regretted bringing my geckos anywhere more than here. I brought my leopard gecko Dormie in today and he was getting ready to shed. His shed broke during the visit and she decided to pull off a majority of it by hand. She was handling him roughly and it made me uncomfortable considering that Wildwood Vet in Redwood City was actively accommodating when Dormie was uncomfortable. Not to mention that his toe started BLEEDING from when she tore his shed off his foot. I've had one other visit a couple years prior where my gecko jumped off the table. She decided to greet me today by saying "oh, the jumpy one". Terrible customer service. She told me to handle the other one more even though she gets EXTREMELY stressed from handling. She also walks with a very mean-spirited attitude w
Terrible. Vet is not knowledgeable and is mean to her staff and clients. Read through the various reviews detailing numerous instances of medical malpractice.
