BARC, Anderson County Humane Society

Bare with me, this is a long and important review. This is the most selfish animal shelter I have ever worked with. They truly do not care about the animals. I recently helped them out with stray cats and permanently took them all in. However, an employee that does not care for the cats decided that she wants them after they have settled into their new home and the board members decided to fulfill her selfish request. They took all of them without notice. How can they call themselves the "humane society". How could you do that to the cats because of someone's entitlement? This is not the first time something like this has happened and if they do not change, it will not be the last. Those poor babies has to be re-homed again. My wife and i have a chihuahua light tam and white in color that these worksrs refuse to allow her back to myself which ahe was taken from due to me riding in an ambulance where she couldnt ride. Her name is Cera.The dog is microchiped to and by Brenda Clark. The employees at this place refused to give her back as per my wifes request and of whome is incarcerated in the County jail. I have since left to head to houston to bring legal methods of custody to have her returned. After further review and emails amongst phone calls our loveable girl was located and arrangements were made to have her returned to me.i thank the employee who assisted me and for what she did to make this transition happen from foster home back to our home and i thank Heather for taking care of her until im able to p

The staff are awesome. I adopted "Daisy". Everyone was patient with me and my questions. Their are a lot of dogs that need a family. Don't buy, adopt!

We adopted daisy may previously name Nutella from barc a few months ago. Very good experience! Would highly recommend adopting from this location. They really love these animals!

Great place to adopt a cat or a dog. Staff is great and helpful.
