In LA we tried Modern Animal and switched to Banfield after a horrible experience with one of the vets at the Beverly location. I’ve been with Banfield coming up on I believe 3 or 4 years now. From the receptionist to the vet, everyone here is extremely kind, patient, and knowledgeable. It has come up to a year since going here and I have not had any issues at all. Sure the wait times might be long, but just as much as they are patient with me, my questions and concerns I can extend that patience to them. I have been at the office when I’ve heard and seen customers become extremely rude, frustrated, I hear the receptionist and vets repeat the same thing multiple times, and in various ways to try to get the message across. I would not be able to have so much patience with some of the cus

Excellent care. We adore Dr. Melcon (our vet for 20+ years - at Marina Pet Hospital before it became Banfield). Front desk personnel are very nice and professional. Phone hold times in the afternoon need to be improved. Pet history review systems are very good. I am happy with them.

Overall, my experience at this location has been very disappointing. They seem to schedule far too many patients for the size of the space, and the staff appear overwhelmed and overworked. The drop-off appointments are especially inconvenient — particularly when you’ve scheduled weeks in advance. Follow-up instructions from the doctor are often rushed and delivered in a brief, run-on explanation at the end of the day, which leaves little room for questions or clarity. After multiple visits for two ongoing issues with my dog — totaling $2,300 — I’ve decided to switch to a new veterinarian. Unfortunately, the experience felt more focused on generating revenue than providing thorough, attentive care.

Biggest ripoff ever. They are constantly trying to upsell or make you pay more for what other vets would do for a single visit price. I have an existing prescription for my dog's food. They somehow lost any record of that, refused to forward me a copy, wouldn't have another vet authorize it, and have caused my dog to starve. Argumentative staff who called me "disrespectful" after talking over me and trying to cut me off or not listening to the full situation. They are the most unhelpful vet staff I've ever encountered. Zero concern for my animal. The staff members I talked to tried to blame me for this happening. Rude. Overpriced. Low quality care.

Dr forced me into a quick decision and only explained financial costs. Didn’t bother to explain why my dog feels unwell. I asked the nurse for assistance and her response was “ I don’t know, dogs are weird” They told me I would hear test results by today and did not call to share results or inform me of a delay. I called them well before the 6pm closing time but the phone goes to a message stating that they are closed. Huge rip off, Dr seems to care about money and not so much the pet. My experience at other banfields had been pretty good. This location is lousy and I will not return
