We have been going here since Winston was not even a year old. He is now 15 needing a little more care than in the past. Dr. Garlicky and the team there are always caring and compassionate. They let me ask questions without feeling rushed, they want to get to the root cause not just slap a bandaid on it. This is a comfort to me since my boy is a “ senior kitty”. Both Ankeny and WDM treat you and your animal with respect and compassion. Side note: I have had him on the optimal wellness plan his whole life.

The staff here is so kind and compassionate! They have cared for my senior dog, as well as my cats, for several years. My dog was recently diagnosed with cancer and Dr. Garlock was so kind to me at the appointment. She discussed our options clearly, while being mindful of my mindset at that point. Dr. Stickler provided care for my girl, and preformed the euthanasia when the time came. She was so sweet and compassionate. It helped us so much as we said our goodbyes. Dr. Marietta is our routine care provider and she was always a fantastic vet! Her kindness is exceptional and we have always been grateful! PROS- I love how easy it is to book an appointment online. I love they are available on the weekends. Staff is friendly and helpful. Vet was caring and took her time to examine my pups. CONS- My biggest area for feedback is how long the appointment took. I had 2 pups, scheduled on different days, and each appointment took over an hour and a half. These visits were for annual vaccinations. I highly recommend changing the procedure so the pet parents aren’t required to sit there for so long. Outside of that, I was happy with the care received and I felt the prices were comparable to other clinics

Dr. Garlock and other doctors have been working with my 12 year old cat, Candy for a few months. Candy was diagnosed with a brain tumor and as her symptoms worsened, I consulted them about her chance to regain health. On Saturday, I called the clinic and was given an appointment for later in the afternoon. Dr. Garlock examined Candy and told my children and me that her quality of life was not going to improve. We chose to let her go before her pain became unbearable. Dr. Garlock helped Candy by giving her the most peaceful exit from life. She showed compassion for my cat as well as compassion for Candy's family. I have been through this experience with other pets but never felt that the visit was anything other than routine. I called a day in advance to ask if I could bring my dog, as I had some concerns, and there was no problem. They asked if I could come today or later, and I said tomorrow would be good. She said that’s fine and asked me to let her know what time is convenient. very respectful is the service that I received
