Banfield Pet Hospital

My 9 year old dog’s rabies vax expired three months ago. Banfield only authorized a one year new vax instead of the normal three year vax. Said it was up to the Vet’s discretion— the VET’S DISCRETION!!! I repeat my dog is 9 years old the former shot just expired! Discretion means they could have said YES to a new three year shot but choose to say no and only gave a one year!!! This means this place is only after money!!! Pick another Vet facility and not Banfield!!

My three pups have been seen by multiple vets, and multiple Banfields over the years and this is by far the best! Dr. Dombrowe is second to none! She is kind and thorough and always takes the time to explain things and answer all of my many questions. The staff at this location seem to truly love what they do and are always so kind, helpful, and happy!

I recently adopted a cat from the ASPCA. I was given a list of clinics for the 1st free checkup. I immediately wanted to go to Banner Pet Hospital. I had a friend shared with me about her wonderful experience with her dog. I scheduled my free visit, only to find it my coupon expired. The staff told me about the coupon for a free exam. Huge relief. Dr. Costa, was so positive and shared information that I found easy to understand and follow up on. Sam is spectacular and caring. I feel more confident at as a pet parent. Will be returning when needed.

We visited the Banfield Pet Hospital inside PetSmart at Forest Lakes on 5.25.19 because a day or two before my mother had noticed that our 10 year old Brussels Griffon, Juju was just not acting her normal self. I woke up that morning with a text for my mother asking me to keep an eye on her, due to her not acting right. This being a dog that the second you take a step is right on our heels is suddenly not moving at all. So I immediately called Banfield to see if they had an opening or when was the soonest they could see us. They were able to see us that afternoon, we were hopeful... We arrived for our appointment, no one seemed to know why we were there, even though I had given explicit detail when making the appointment. While waiting to be seen Juju had used the restroom all over me.

I had an extremely disappointing experience. I called ahead at 3:07 to let them know I was running just a few minutes late. When I arrived at 3:10, after driving across Charlottesville from the University of Virginia with my 86-year-old grandfather and our 13-year-old dog, Courtney told us we “should have called to say we were here” and refused to take us back. Instead, she made us reschedule, saying we were “wasting her time.” We were there. We had already called. Turning away an elderly man and making us leave after such effort was unnecessarily harsh and unprofessional.
