Auglaize Animal Hospital

I cannot say enough good things about Auglaize animal hospital! I drive over an hour to get here because everyone is just that wonderful. They are very caring and supportive. They helped my senior dog through the last bit of his life. This can be a very difficult time and they handled everything better than I could have expected. Dr. Maddie is very sweet and takes the time to explain things in a way that that you can understand. Even my pup who usually hated going to the vet, didn't mind coming here! They are so good with the animals. You can tell that everyone really cares. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for vet that will do the absolute best for your fur baby while keeping a calm and loving atmosphere.

I took my Golden Retriever here to be looked at for a hotspot, since Golden Retrievers are prone to getting them and his had been spreading quickly. My husband actually called twice earlier in the afternoon, once before 3:00 p.m. and again a little after — and both times he was told that we could bring our dog in after 3:00 because they accept walk-ins. When I arrived around 4:00 (after driving from Lima), my husband told me to call and let them know I was there, so I did. The woman who answered said there was a two-hour wait and that the doctor wasn’t taking any more walk-ins. I explained that my husband had called twice earlier and was told our dog could be seen today because it was urgent — he was in pain and even shaking from how much it hurt. Ms Maddy & her staff are beyond amazing & I seriously couldn’t ask for better people to save my precious fur baby! We arrived 45 mins before closing with a very sick baby. Maddy & her staff jumped right into action only taking minutes to figure out what was wrong, which resulted in surgery. Obviously by this time it was closing time, but Maddy&staff didn’t let that bother them! They took my baby right on back & performed the surgery!! Dr. Maddy Saved our Bermise Mountain Dogs life as a pup with emergency surgery. Thanks to her My Baby was able to have a 1st Birthday!! She is now 3 and doing great. We also take our other 2 fur babies to her. Great environment and staff!!

We have used this veterinary clinic for several years, the prior vet would not allow us to be with our dog that we rescued years earlier when she was needing to be put down due to serious medical issues, that broke our heart worse not being there for her. Our other dog who later had serious medical issues had to be put down and thankfully we were able to be with him during his last moments and the clinic sent us a beautiful sympathy card with his paw print included. It is under new management now so things are different as far as being with your fur baby. Now we have a puppy and just took her in for her first check-up, the office smells great, it is very clean and the staff is so kind and caring and knowledgeable.
