I cannot say enough amazing things about Arcadia Pets and their NJ location. This is truly the most loving, honest, and family-run pet store I have ever experienced. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed like family. Jonathan and his wonderful mom, who own and run both stores, NJ and Staten Island, are some of the kindest and most knowledgeable people I’ve ever met. You can immediately tell that this is a real family business built on love, trust, and genuine care for animals. I spent many months trying to find the perfect dog for myself and my three year old. Cynthia and Jonathan could not have been more helpful and accommodating in helping me make this big decision. They answered any and all of my many questions and made the whole process so simple for me. We came home with our Maltipoo a week ago and it’s been so amazing. Buying my Caique from Arcadia Pets of Freehold (Jonathan and his family) was truly one of the most special experiences I’ve had. They took the time to answer all of my questions, share their knowledge, and make sure I felt completely comfortable and confident about bringing my new baby home. What really stood out to me was how much love and attention they give to their birds. You can see it in how healthy, happy, and well-socialized they are. It didn’t feel like “just a sale” — it felt personal, thoughtful, and genuine. My Jiji is an absolute joy, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to add a feathered family member to their home.

This small family owned pet shop was very clean; the owner and her staff was so kind and very personable. They answered all of my questions. All of the puppies had play pen time to socialize and play with other puppies. All breeder and get documentation was available and provided; along with a microchip I can set up and food and a hand made blanket💕. Now this beautiful little girl has joined our family ❤️ and her disposition is amazing! She gets along with our 4 dogs and cat! Three of my rescues are pretty shy but fell in love at first sniff right away!! This shop is nothing like the “Puppies” shop.

Jon and his whole family truly care about their animals and have so much knowledge and experience. We have been looking for a puppy for months and Jon worked with us through every step of the process and told us everything that we need for our new dachshund puppy! Best store around and it’s not even close. Couldn’t recommend Arcadia enough!
