Aquatics for fun

I really don't ever leave reviews so you know this place is good! The owner of this shop is so friendly and knowledgeable. His shrimp and bettas are so well taken care of and at great prices. He even took time to explain how to create a caridina tank. When I found a little stowaway crayfish (which I thought was maybe from him but ended up being from another shop) he said to bring it in and he would keep it. I will keep coming to him for any aquarium supplies I need! Some pics below

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five-Star Experience at Aquatics for Fun! I recently visited Aquatics for Fun (63 Bayard st downstairs , New York City) for the first time and had an absolutely fantastic experience. I honestly didn’t even realize they existed until today — and I’m so glad I found them. I’ve been to pretty much every aquarium store across the five boroughs, and this one is definitely in my top three. The owner is present, incredibly knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the hobby. The level of livestock husbandry is exceptional, and the depth of knowledge about the plants for sale really shows in the quality and health of everything in the store. The layout is clean, organized, and thoughtfully set up. Prices are very reasonable, and I especially appreciate their specials — for example, buy 10

“I had an absolutely incredible experience at Aquariums for Fun. Andy’s service was a perfect 10/10—he was so knowledgeable and genuinely passionate. I told him about my new pea puffers, and he shared this personal story from when he was a kid—so heartfelt. Not only did he guide me with plants (I picked up beautiful Christmas moss mats) and meds, but he also gave me free parasite treatment when he realized that was the cause of a past loss. And the shrimp selection? Absolutely breathtaking—I saw varieties I’ve never seen in person. If you love aquariums, you have to check this place out!”

MOST IMPORTANT: Best prices I've seen around, especially since the owner actually has a very unique selection and everything you buy has been through a proper quarantine process so no mystery diseases to wipe out your whole community tank you spent a billion dollars on. Although the footprint of the store itself is small, the space is utilized very well and all the fish and shrimps are kept in proper tanks with good filtration and clean healthy environments. They are actually even breeding in the tanks, which is hard to achieve unless the conditions are good and the fish are taken good care of.
