Appalachian Great Pyrenees Rescue

I came here to volunteer last weekend and it was a busy Saturday! A lot of volunteers helping add patio spaces to the dog enclosures as well as staff walking dogs and doing meet and greets! The staff know the dogs so well and it was awesome to see how well they are taken care of. We are considering adopting a Pyr in the future so volunteering has been very insightful into the process of getting to know the dogs. I plan to continue to volunteer at AGPR and I advise anyone who is interested in volunteering to reach out to them as well! ** Google directions will have you drive past the rescue center and drop you off in the middle of a road!** If using google, you will see a kennel mailbox and a driveway directly across from it, use the driveway and you will see the AGPR sign- don't continue

I know the people who volunteer and work there and they are super dedicated. They seldom, if ever, turn any dog away and travel great distances to rescue them. They totally depend on donations and they do respond with a thank you.

They were so nice and supportive while we were considering adopting. They even let us "test drive" a bonded pair. And it is obvious they take great care of the dogs.
