Went there just to get information on adopting a dog. I’ve adopted a cat and a hound mix from here in the past 15 years both have passed on. The two women were obnoxiously rude and unhelpful. I went to donate 1500$ as well.I took that 1500$ and bought a dog instead of adopting one who needed love and donating.

Back in 2012 I went to check out a dog named Jester at the new Milford animal shelter and what I didn’t know was that I was going to meet my best friend that day. I was fortunate enough to have Jester (who I later renamed Blu) in my life for 14 years. This would not have happened without this organization and im incredibly proud of the work they’ve done for the community.

I recently visited this shelter to drop off a cat we rescued from my late aunt’s home. The situation was already emotional and stressful, and unfortunately the staff member, KELLY, who assisted us made it significantly worse. Instead of showing compassion or professionalism, she spoke to us with an extreme attitude as if we were to blame for the cat’s condition. We were trying to do the right thing by getting the cat immediate help since we couldn’t care for her as we already have a cat and a dog but we were met with rudeness, judgment, and zero empathy. For a place that works in animal welfare, I expected at least a basic level of kindness and understanding toward people bringing in an animal in need. I hope management addresses this, because interactions like this can discourage people

We thought he was part German Shepherd and maybe a Hound dog of some sort as his ears flip down but he has the coloration of a tan body with a black mask like a Shepherd. He has the best personality, was quite thin when we adopted him. I've since run into someone who said "I see you've got yourself a Black Mouth Cur there. This was a great place to adopt a new dog. I had been looking to adopt a new dog and they had a number of animals ready to be taken home. I found a dog that fit my lifestyle and it has been great. The experience and adoption at Animal welfare society is very easy. They also have very low fees considering that the animal comes fully checked out by a vet, spayed or neutered, and with all of their shots. They also help you out after adoption if any new things might pop up. They take care of it no charge.they are very nice people, I would definitely recommend checking them out.
