Animal Friends Rescue Project

In 2019 I found the website for AFRP made an appointment to stop by and see the dogs that were on site and talk about having a visit with a possible dog in foster. I chose an adorable little dog named Oscar. Next was becoming "eligible", yes eligible, to take in a dog from a "rescue". A paid foster (her words) then brought Oscar to my home for me to meet and fall in love with. The foster mom was too busy on her phone and with her teenager to give me information. After waiting over a week for a response I was then told by a woman with AFRP I did not qualify! The AFRP inspector that had came over obliterated my house. I'm sure, like many places, people have their ups and downs with this organization but our experience, thankfully, was totally positive. After losing our two beloved dogs within a few months of each other, we adopted a little guy from a rescue in S.F. Knowing we needed another pup, and having had several negative experiences prior to our latest adoption (we are in the "older" generation), we contacted AFRP about a little gal we saw on the web. Someone was in touch with us immediately and we arranged a couple 'meet and greets'. Needless to say, she went home with us and has been with us over a year-and-a-half. We couldn't have been happier with our experience.

I love the mission of this organization. I adopted my little fur baby here several years back and he's been the best buddy a girl can have. This organization also works with local shelters to offer young and old fur critters the chance to live out their lives with people who care.

I’m totally biased because we foster with this org. But they walk the walk. They are doing the good work for animals in danger.
