Absolutely an amazingly well-maintained center. You can go say hi to the cats but no saying hi to the dogs unless you’re planning to adopt and they take out one at a time to reduce stress. I love how they prioritize the animals!! Also a bunch of really cute cats!!

EDIT: the adoption manager, Charlotte, reached out to me and helped make things right. She found us the perfect fit! Rescues are tough, for the animals and workers. I am grateful we were able to come together and we now have our baby boy, Hank❤️ we will be going back to work with their behaviorist as well! — Upon entering, I was not greeted by any of the volunteers, so I just stood around until someone asked if I needed something. I mean…I’m at an adoption center, so yes? I explained my home (other pets) and said I was looking for an older dog that was well with cats, or perhaps a kitten. You would think someone may point me to the board and show me some options, but instead, she told me I could walk through the cat area but that the dogs were only to be viewed by “serious adopters.” R

We were blessed to have adopted two black sister kittens from AFA in February! We visited their Taft Hill shelter but didn't connect with any cats there. And then we saw our two cats on their list, but they were at a foster home. We were able to easily and quickly set up a meet n greet with the foster home. We put a hold on them so that we could discuss and make a decision, and the next day we drove them home <3 My only "complaint" (which really isn't a complaint, more just information for others looking to adopt) is the 24-hour hold policy. We felt very rushed and pressured into making a quick decision, because of the potential for others to meet the cats and adopt on the spot. I love the care and effort put into each animal and the adoption process to ensure they afraid going to a proper home. Recently experienced euthanasia services with Amanda and I couldn't be more happy with this choice. The approach and guidance during an incredibly devastating and sensitive time really helped. She explained it all step by step and made sure we were okay. We got to take our time with it all. Thank you Amanda!

I've taken all my dogs to them to get spayed and neutered over probably at least 10 years. They are the most reasonably priced place around and they always do amazing work on my pets. I will continue to come here as long as they are there. People are always so nice i can tell they treat my dogs like their own pet would be treated.
