Animal Ark

I've only ever visited cats, so this is a limited review. The animals are well cared for, and the spaces they have are spacious and comfortable. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

My family’s indoor/outdoor cat was stolen by the neighbors and taken to animal ark and claimed that he was a stray and not taken care of. He had another cat companion, and was loved by my younger siblings. My family lives in a rural area and outdoor cats are common. They had heating pads, heated water dishes, constant access to food, treats and love. They are falsely advertising our cat as “Bubba” which is not even his name and their description of him and his history is completely false. The neighbors always said how much they loved him and want him around. Then they turned around and did this. Animal Ark would not release him back to my family and now my siblings are crushed about their cat. Animal Ark and my family’s neighbors should go around town and pick up every cat they see outside

I had a life changing event and needed to surrender one of my pets. Mind you this was not an easy decision to make. We arrived at Animal Ark and when we were asked what they could help us with, the four women's reaction to my give up my pet was not what I expected. They gave us a look that gave me the feeling of being the worse possible human on earth. I was looking for compassion and understanding but instead walked away feeling like a low life. But once they were told that my husband passed they all changed their aditude. All I can advise is DO NOT go to this organization to surrender your pet. They will look down there nose at you. Find an organization that has compassion for what you are going through.

It's a shame Animal Ark has restrictions in effect on people that live in mobile home parks. I submitted an application for a cute little orange kitten named Walter. A couple of days later I got a return email saying that I was denied....what?? why??? Denied because I live in a mobile home park. In the email it said.. Because mobile home parks.. 1. because it causes a colonie of cats (not anymore than any other neighborhood) 2. The cat could slip out and get underneath the skirting of the mobile home (this is no difference than a cat getting under a house) 3. The cat could simply slip out and ran away (this can happen and does happen to anyone no matter where they live) I guarantee Walter would have the best life for the rest of his life a cat could ever have if he was to become a part of

Nice animal shelter with helpful staff. Lots of cats, and it’s nice to be able to visit and pet them. It would be nice to be able to visit the dogs, too, though. Unfortunate that it’s not allowed.
