Animal Ark

We adopted Hutchinson ( Hudson was his shelter name), a one-eyed Boston Terrier/Pug mix. It took him about three weeks to settle in, and for our dog Amberjack (Chihuahua/something) to accept him as pack. He has become the sweetest, most cuddly little bug, and I’m sure that Animal Ark had a lot to do with his easy transition. Only one teeny tiny issue:we adopted him as a three year old, but according to his medical records, which our vet obtained due to interest in his eye surgery, he was actually seven. That turned out to be better because Amberjack is around the same age. I’m so happy with how the adoption adventure went. I also appreciate the no-kill aspect.

Just adopted a sweet girl who was a long term resident today we have seen her 3 times and everytime we’ve seen her improve and this time we finally said let’s take her home let’s give her a space she can finally relax in and holy cow 180 personality change she is the biggest cuddle bug she loves pets so much, the kindness and love they show their animals is amazing and would definitely recommend looking into their place if you’re looking for a new family member they are calm and patient with everyone really talking to people to know their needs in a pet and help you find a good match even when you don’t expect it because our new girl we remember her hissing and swatting at us to stay away and now getting her home she was just an anxious girl she is the absolute sweetest

I just want to say that this place is truly a blessing. They did everything they possibly could for my dog—above and beyond—and when things were out of their control, they still continued to help me and show compassion. Animal Ark genuinely cares, and that means more than I can put into words. Paige even stayed after her scheduled time to get off work just to help me, and that kindness will never be forgotten. Thank you all so much. Your compassion and dedication were deeply appreciated during such a difficult time.

My daughter and I went to Animal Ark Rescue hoping to adopt. After filling out the application, we were denied for vague “inconsistencies.” They said living near a busy highway was an issue—even though we have a fenced yard and were willing to keep the cat indoors. They also took issue with having other animals, despite our willingness to follow indoor-only routines. The whole experience felt dismissive and gaslighting. Very disappointing and discouraging.

We wanted to meet joy and Luna but when we inquired about them the lady up front seemed very dismissive and had a bad attitude. We didn’t see either dog. We will not be returning solely because of the customer service. No one was friendly and they all were just dismissive of us.
