Picked up Emily on 3/3/2026 says flea and tick prevention was administered in 03/02/2025 brought Emily into my brand new apartment to be bitten by a flea within 48 hours. Returned for some assistance for flea preventative as she clearly was not treated & the woman in the help area at ACCT basically couldn’t do shit for me since it’s “post adoption” but asked if I wanted to return the cat.. so she could be left untreated and infest someone else’s home??? Managed to get an exam at VCA 3/5, a tech pulled three fleas off her in under a minute in the room. I didn’t feel like showing my ass today at ACCT even though I really should have. Absolutely disgusting sending animals home in that condition and people have enough they are dealing with. Wouldn’t trust getting another animal from here.

If you want a dog, and you're looking to save a dog's life, this is the place to go! Don't waste your time with these out of state, save a breed or whatever places. Just go to your local Philly place and save a local Philly animal. Every person we dealt with while there obviously loves the animals they are charged with caring for. They were patient, kind, caring and helpful. Got my previous dog there, got this one for my mom there, and next time I am without a dog- hipefully not soon- I'll check there first.

We had a great experience adopting our sweet handsome baby, the process was easier and faster than what we expected. We’re loving our dog even though it has been challenging because he has separation anxiety (which is common for rescues) and we are happy we were able to get him before he was put to sleep. Also, they make it even easier by providing you with a couple bags of free food and discounts on supplies and accessories to help with the initial cost of having your new bestie so I would highly encourage anyone to adopt from here. I might be coming back to get a second doggy🤗

These humans are absolutely amazing. Extremely helpful and compassionate. I left reassured that Honey (my female Pitt bulldog) is going to be well taken care of. She didn't even look back at me when the veterinarian assistant came for her bc they connected instantly. Kind people. Of course I cried. I can check on her anytime.
