Customer Reviews
This was our very first Vet appointment for our newly adopted rescue cat. We waited for less than 5minutes in the waiting room and were seen right away. Dr. Virgil made a huge impression on us. She reassured us and explained so many things to us about our new cat that we had no idea about! She even knew from examining her that her age was closer to 10months not 1yr. She was very thorough, gentle, and patient with Sonya. She and her assistant Tiffany were so incredibly kind and you can tell how much they really adore cats!!! Dr. Virgil was extremely helpful! She answered all of my questions in detail and she even gave our sweet little Sonya a complimentary nail trim. I so appreciate the support and care from Academy East Veterinary Hospital. We were pleasantly surprised at the friendliness
We are new clients to Academy East Veterinary Hospital, bringing in three feline patients for their first visit. Scheduling online was easy, forms were accessible, and transferring records from our previous vet was straightforward. Parking was simple, and the double-door entry was appreciated for safety. I chose this hospital and Ashley Hampton specifically due to her strong reputation for feline care, which is well-earned. Todays experience, however, was mixed. Initial front-desk interaction felt transactional for a new client, though checkout was noticeably friendlier. Environmental stress was a concern—frequent dog barking was clearly audible in the exam room, and there was a sudden loud bang that shook the room without explanation. For stress-sensitive cats, improved sound mitigation
Academy East in Fuquay-Varina is our regular veterinarian and has helped us with an emergency for our golden retriever. They fit us in to the busy schedule and gave us immediate solutions to our dog’s needs. I sincerely am very grateful to our dog’s care team and especially Dr. Beam. She cares about the animals in her care and their humans. I highly recommend Academy East and the staff that is a blessing to my family and goes above and beyond to watch out for our precious Charlotte. Thank you all for your time and dedication to your animal care.
We have been coming to Academy East Veterinary Hospital for at least 23 years. We started coming here when Dr. Padfield first opened the office. She’s retired now and we truly miss her. She’s an amazing veterinarian. Dr. Slaughter is who we regularly see now and we just love her. She gives us her open and honest opinion which we value greatly. She knows our dogs (present and past) well and takes great care of them. However, we have always had a great experience no matter which veterinarian took care of us. They have been worth every penny we have spent here over the years.
I just moved into the area and I was looking for a new vet. I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Academy East. The entire staff from the front desk, to the vet assistant to the veterinarian herself, were all so pleasant. That can be hard to find in high stress and high volume environment. They genuinely cared about my cat Mr. Kitty and he got his favorite treats while getting his shots. The Veterinarian (I believe Dr. Virgil is her name) is taking the time to look into new options and treatments for my cat’s pillow paw. No other vets have tried anything outside of keeping him on steroids for his whole life, which is not ideal. I look forward to keeping Mr. Kitty happy and healthy through Academy.
