I’ve been a client at Abbey for 5 ish years — I followed my vet over from another hospital that my family had used since the early 90’s and I never looked back. I’ve since relocated from the bay area and continue to drive the 1.5 hours to bring my dog here for scheduled appts. While I always see the same vet, I’m impressed with the whole practice. They recognize us… are friendly, accommodating and efficient. Can’t say enough great things about Dr Hitchcock — she’s always respected my approach to pet care when it comes to diet, preventatives, vaccines, handling requests… and treatment plans have always felt personalized and collaborative. Cherry on top, my dogs like her too. Always a great experience, even the hard visits. Thank you again & again.

Caring, compassionate, skilled staff. Our paralyzed rescue dog has several complex medical issues. Dr. Judd's expert care is allowing her to live a happy, comfortable life.

Experienced, Ethical & Accessible, with endless friendliness... Very easy to find this place, and park there, too! Dr. Hitchcock's thoroughness during an initial cat dental consultation turned up a belly tumor in a well-loved neighborhood cat. Dr. Judd then helped us get the imagery to UC Davis Vet school, and the front office helped us work with the Humane Society of Alameda through the cat's final days, incredibly, about 10 months after the initial finding. Maitexa's quick organization, Maureen's direct overview, and Genesis's cheery encouragement were invaluable in keeping the cat mostly comfortable in her final year. For animal, AND, given the effects of pet friends on people, greater COMMUNITY health, these well run, long established, conscientious vet clinics are your best bet.

I have been going to Abbey Pet Hospital for about 20 years. The rates are reasonable and the staff is very loving and caring. My main vet is Dr. Judd who is knowledgeable, kind, and honest. He has a lovely demeanor and makes the time to answer all my questions. Just to note all of the doctors there are great. Dr. Judd and his staff walked with me through my dog Brass's end of life journey. It was with their knowledge and care that made the process easier. Brass loved everyone at Abby Pet Hospital. I now have a dog named Paco who had his first vet visit at Abbey Pet Hospital and we were met with the same knowledge and care as always. Paco went in for a general checkup, vaccines, and toenail clipping. He was spoiled with treats and I am thankful to have found this veterinary hospital so
