Winsted Hospital for Animals

I have been coming here for the past few years. My senior cat was diagnosed with kidney disease, and I have really appreciated the support and care she has received here. The staff are always friendly and informative. I always know she is in good hands when she comes here for her exams. Anytime she received bloodwork/testing, the doctor was prompt in providing results and gave a thorough explanation. I would recommend this vet to others.

Not a good experience here. I took my dog in to check a small swollen spot on her ear. Dr. Batista spent less the 10 minutes with her. She didn’t take my dog”s temperature, said she couldn’t hear the heart well and stopped trying immediately. She looked in the ear and hemmed and hawed over whether she saw any signs of infection. She seemed more concerned with going out to print an estimate of charges than caring about my pet. When she brought the estimate her assistant insisted that I only had five minutes to decide what to do because they only allow a short time for appointments .$130.00 just to walk in the door should get better service than that. Sorry, I rarely write bad reviews. I mostly only share good experiences and thanks for good work. But this was really not good.

Though River didn’t see her regular vet due to this being an unexpected visit and him being booked out, the vet we did see was awesome. Very pleasant, kind and patient with River, answered all our questions and all was well. River was given a clean bill of health. Support staff and techs are ALWAYS AMAZING. 20+ years of being a client. Never disappointed and always appreciative.

Our dog Buddy is doing so much better since starting his Lyme treatment. We were scared when he started limping with no injuries. Staff was prompt and helpful and took us right away. Looking forward to our follow up. Thanks everyone.
