I found a dog under a year old (according to a k9 officer) with an injured paw on July 16th. We waited for the animal control officer to come to take it to the shelter. I made it clear I didn’t risk my life on the shoulder of a highway for a dog to get euthanized. I was told a vet would not be available until the morning to look. I said I would pay for the vet bill if needed. The officer took all my information and told me to call in the morning. I did and was told they euthanized the dog that night. No vet looked at the dog (I confirmed); however they tried to cover themselves by saying it had multiple injuries-which it did not!!!! I have photos of the dog! I spoke with Lt. Harper and his Captain in the background. They hung up on me! Don’t trust them! I still am mad at myself fo
Lady at the front was very lazy and uneducated. Went to go adopt a momma and a baby and wouldn't let me adopt either one. But would allow them to go to a foster family. I was about to give them both a forever home and instead you just foster them out. Doesn't make sense in my opinion. I got a different animal from there as well. I was told the animal was properly fed and watered .... It was most certainly not fed the right feed if fed at all.
I adopted a Chihuahua today from here. The process went well. Everyone was extremely helpful.
Wouldn’t take in a dying kitten that needed rescue. Sad to say that the poor kitten passed away the next day. Do better. A dying animal shouldn’t need paperwork signed nor should the person who found it have to live in Wilson for them to do anything.
The officers there were very nice and pleasant. The same to really care about the animals. I love the TV screen they have showing the animals that they have available for adoption. It is take a while to go through the entire process plus waiting time. Make sure you allow yourself enough time and don't be in a rush. The animals are worth the wait.
