Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter

Probably the largest and nicest animal shelter I've ever been to. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and informative. Especially the woman who did our meet and greet with Missy. The pup we asked to see was extremely shy/scared, cowering in her kennel and then cowering in the corner of the room during our meet and greet. The staff member did a great job of helping keep her calm and enticing her with treats enough to come closer and meet us. We were told someone else had met her the day before but they didn't take her because she was so shy. Well, their loss was our gain. It took her a few days to settle in, she wanted to stick to one spot and she slept A LOT. But now we're two weeks from her adoption date and she is starting to feel comfortable enough to open up and be silly and play

I got my Baby Cha Cha here after the eldest of my family's two cats went missing in the night. The shelter is well kept, animals are treated kindly and fairly, and there are so many animals here waiting for their forever home. Thank you for hosting so many animals in need when other shelters had to close during the floods in summer of 2025!

We showed up without an appointment on Sunday, to hopefully adopt a kitten. The lady at the front desk said we could look around and that a foster was there with a litter as well, so she would have more information about the kittens she had. We looked at the foster kittens first and fell in love with one. We decided to look at more kittens before making a decision, but didn't make very far. We ended up choosing Moo, one of the foster kittens. We filled out the application and walked around while waiting to have our application gone over. Everyone that we encountered was busy as there were a lot of potential adopters there, but they were extremely nice and helpful. We couldn't take Moo home that day because he needed to be neutered and get his booster vaccines. So we picked him up the next

My big headed velcro boy came from here and I knew the staff showered him with love like they do all the animals under their care. And that’s the important bit: they care. I appreciate everyone here that chooses to spend their time caring for those that have been neglected, abused, and gone unloved for too long. Today we had an extremely upsetting experience with the Williamson County Animal Shelter. Our very elderly dog, who has Stage 3 kidney disease, was picked up this morning. He is microchipped and wearing bandanna(not a stray), We discovered he was there by searching online, where he had been incorrectly listed as a female, even though he is an un neutered male. We arrived within a few hours to pick him up, worried sick. Instead of being met with understanding or compassion, the staff were immediately hostile and dismissive. We were also shocked to learn that they had administered multiple vaccines without our consent, despite the fact that he is already vaccinated and had very recent veterinary care. Given his age and serious kidney disease, this was extremely concerning for us. When my
