Please disregard the poor reviews! I got off of work at my hospital in Tampa and my co-worker saw a poor, defenseless baby raccoon under a car. It started to storm as we were desperately trying to get it out from under this woman’s car who had to leave. Finally secured the baby, took it home, called the local VEG and they referred to Wildlife Haven and gave two different numbers. Mind you, it’s late after my shift and she answered immediately. She even said she would meet closer to pick her up. We met and this woman has the heart of gold!!!!! Maryland (I hope that’s how you spell her name) has been saving raccoons for over 20 years, has acreage and reassured us rabies has been near eradicated from the area, just in case we were worried. I found some baby raccoons in my dumpster one morning and felt so bad for them. I didn’t know what to do. Bill came out and help me with these baby raccoons to help get them back into the wild. After fishing these trash pandas out of the dumpster, I got to talking with Bill. It is clear his passion for raccoons. Not many people care about these creatures as they find them to be a nuisance. But he made sure these 4 little guys were taken care of. Thanks Bill for all you did to help keep these babies alive!

I called them late at night because I found an injured baby squirrel, Bill answered the phone and walked me through how to get the squirrel through the night. Bill then told me he would open up early just for me to bring the squirrel in early in the morning so that I could get the squirrel into care and still make it to my job in time to not be late. I’m very appreciative of the dedication and care for wildlife. I wish I could give more stars

Called about concerns for a baby opossum that was on a major highway. Was told it was old enough to be on its own and was then laughed at by a male on the phone that they would not do anything. No empathy nor care for an incredibly dangerous situation, and was laughed at multiple times. Much better ways to handle the situation and to treat someone calling with a concern. Even if they couldn’t do anything, I feel like there are better ways to speak to someone who is worried with grace and kindness instead of making them feel bad and embarrassed for trying to help an innocent animal. Very unimpressed with this rescue.

Bill is my hero. We had a sick raccoon that had distemper and Bill came out and trapped the poor guy. Sadly it wasnt the end I would have like for the raccoon but Bill was amazing and took him to the vet immediately so the poor guy wouldn’t suffer anymore.
