Whitfield County Animal Control

Just wanted to leave a message I adopted a stray from SPCA in Largo, FL but he come from this location he’s such a sweet boy he has some issues we are ironing out, but every stray has some sort of issue. Thank you!!!! to all the employees, volunteers and anyone else that has any job working with animals it has to be hard emotionally and physical.

I can't speak for anyone at the shelter as I have no experience but I work all around Whitfield County and I called them twice last week about dogs and I was back in the same area of one of those dogs today and was SO happy to see they had new bowls and hay for their houses!! It makes their sad living conditions much better. I've reported neglected animals in multiple counties and they either don't follow up or don't seem to care. Whitfield has been so polite when I call and clearly they follow up for these innocent animals. Thank you!! ❤️

Threaten to shoot our dog when she not an aggressive dog she a German Shepard. But she so calm and sweet other dogs on the street still loose and doesn’t do anything but stay harassing us just cause of their breed.

Called about a deer that died in our yard and they said it wasn’t their problem and we should bag it up ourselves and do it even though we don’t have the means of moving it. Then I called back separately and told them it was near the road and they need to come get it because no one in this neighborhood wants to see a dead deer lying there and they said they were sending someone out but the whole day went by and no one came. These people are disgraceful and judging by everyone else’s comments they need to be restructured or just totally gotten rid of. Total embarrassment on their part. No wonder dead animals in the Whitfield county area get left out for weeks to decompose on the side of the road.

The lady that works there is extremely rude and uncaring! They need to hire new people with compassion and professionalism! She offered no alternative to help with an aggressive dog and refused to take it because it wasn’t old enough despite it attacking and injuring my other dog! This place and these people are an absolute joke!
