We have had to take our asthmatic cat here multiple times because he gets flare ups that need immediate treatment before we can get him to our regular vet. WSU was able to get his breathing back to normal in a period of around 12 hours, but the vet students/doctors controlling the care he gets refuse to listen to us on what medicine and treatment works best for him. We have owned him for almost 5 years and have had to go through this many times, we know what works best for him. We understand the need to get a medical history and explain their plan of action, but we have had multiple instances of them refusing to give a steroid shot we know works to bring his breathing back to normal because there are some health risks that can arise from administering this. He has his bloodwork done often
We are incredibly grateful to the team at WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital. I am so thankful that my research of a surgeon that could safely complete a thorascopic surgery for our 14 year old diabetic lab lead us to WSU and specifically Doctor Fransson. We spoke with other surgeons at veterinary hospitals in Washington state and none of them could compare to Doctor Fransson's compassion and thoroughness. She listened to our concerns and our dog's preexisting health issues and came up with a surgical plan that was as safe and minimally invasive as possible to ensure that our senior boy could recover as quickly as possible and have the best possible outcome. The resident, Doctor Morris, was equally impressive and made several critical suggestions that ensured our dog recovered exceptionally
If I could give a zero I would, they almost killed my dog, they refuse to put her on a antibiotic or probiotic at my request, but test after test and tore part of her nose off for a feeding tube. They wanted to do a plasma transfusion and we decided to put her down, then they decided to go into her tummy for a culture to put her on a antibiotic, which I agreed to so she could get antibiotics, they did not get results back before putting her on antibiotics, sad I had to pay more money for more test to get her on antibiotics to get her feeling better. Then they throw me low platelets level trying to talk me into leaving her there longer, I call this a money grab , sad they can do this to the animals and to people. It's inhumane. No one should have to go thru this, no one, remember it's a sc
As someone who works in vet med, I was very happy with WSU, their staff and vet students, the prices, and the level of care my cats received. One of my cats became very sick shortly after moving to Pullman, and WSU without a doubt saved her life. She became anemic and ended up needing 3 blood transfusions over the course of about 4 months. After a very comprehensive workup, we finally got our unfortunate diagnosis of an aggressive cancer with a median survival time of 6-9 months with chemo. She handled the chemo like an absolute champ and I’m happy to say she’s been in remission since May of 2023, almost 2.5 years later. I worked with several teams during this time: Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Integrative Medicine, the ER, and of course Oncology. Everyone was so kind and helpful, and
Fantastic vet hospital! They have provided excellent service for my dogs (and one of my turtles!). Prices are very reasonable. I can’t recommend them enough. I don’t know what I would do without them. We’ve utilized their emergency department, cardiology, internal medicine, and oncology. Thank you for all you do. Now if only I could get frequent flyer miles for my medical problem child, Scooby. 😅
