Wallingford Animal Shelter

Definitely not impressed and am very agitated. I called Wallingford ACO over a month ago about a stray cat I found in my yard, who would come by twice a day for a couple of days starting on 10/31 for food. I named him Simon, and he was the sweetest boy known to man, just wanted pets and love. Unfortunately, my family and I couldn’t afford to vet him ourselves and with me owning 3 cats I couldn’t take him in my place to stay warm so I called officer Mitch to pick him up to ensure he was no longer outside. Since he was picked up, my mother in law became interested in providing him an home and her and I have called repeatedly to check in on him, filled out applications, and have been persistent in our passionate to bring him home once his “stray hold” was over. I adopted 3 dogs within 6 months from WAC. They are the best decisions we ever made. Unfortunately, 2 have since passed away. But we are grateful that we had them for the time we had them for. Of course, forever is still not enough time. But the 2 and 3 years that we had with Simmie and Daisy, we will cherish forever. Thankfully, we still have Mia, and we would love to be able to find her a sister, brother or both... Only time will tell Thank you WAC, and thank you my fur babies, for saving us.

What a great place this is for animals. Both the employees are wonderful and caring. I spoke mostly to Katie who had the animals welfare at the top of her list. I have Lived in other states and I can tell you that a lot of shelters do not operate with Such passion and concern. I can never say enough good things about the People who work at this shelter.

Glad that this facility finally rid itself of that poor excuse of a human being animal control officer. Should have been done a long time ago after first offense was cited

The staff is so nice. They take great care of the animals and I think its great that they are a no kill shelter. They do an amazing job finding these animals a forever home.
