WAIF Animal Shelter

This has to be the cleanest most organized. Shelter I've been in. Stephanie. Escorted me and showed me some adoption ideas. She is perfect for the job she has a heart of gold. I'm. Very sensitive. When It comes to animal shelters. It's hard to walk through these places without having a tear in your eye. Thank God. That. There are people like Stephanie? That care. My hats are off. To all of you that work at this shelter. I know you work hard. And it shows.. God bless.

Everybody at WAIF was so incredibly welcoming and helpful with us. They let us take all the time we needed to meet the cats and get a sense of their personalities. We ended up adopting one and he is such a wonderful addition to our family. The facility is beautiful, clean and smells good. The same thing cannot be said for many animal shelters, so Whidbey’s homeless animals are very lucky to be under WAIF’s care until they find homes.

Wonderful and friendly staff. Dogs are well taken care of. Easy adoption process!

Beware! We went into the Coupeville shelter for one cat and left with two! Seriously, our WAIF experience has been great. Trey was a wonderful facilitator; he introduced us to all the cats available for adoption. Facility is clean. Staff is friendly and competent. 10/10

We had a smooth adoption process at WAIF, and the staff were helpful when we brought home our new kitten a week ago. However, her spay incision opened four days later. Although we're aware kittens are energetic, we weren't fully prepared for this potential complication. Due to WAIF's limited hours and lack of immediate veterinary care, we had to take her to an emergency clinic, incurring over $120 in costs. Although we understand post-adoption care falls to us, we were disappointed that WAIF couldn't offer reimbursement or more comprehensive guidance. Despite this, we appreciate WAIF's mission and would recommend considering their adoption services, but prospective pet owners should be aware of potential post-surgery complications.
