DO NOT BUY FISH FROM THIS STORE! My kids worked this summer to buy fish, and were very excited to use their own money. Stopped in to Patti’s and left with 12+ fish. First of all, it seemed extremely expensive for what we ended up getting, but couldn’t verify if we were overcharged as we never received a receipt. Second, the kids were very thorough asking her what type of fish would get along in a tank together. She ended up putting an aggressive fish in the bag with the others, and it killed another fish before we even arrived at home 10 minutes later. We went back and she replaced that one. However, more than half the fish died within a week and a half. They were fed the correct food, always temperature controlled, had a clean/large enclosure, and were well cared for. There was just somet
lady seemed nice but the store is awful. photo 1: guinea pigs need to be in pairs, and they cannot use wheels. their backs are too fragile. and even if they could like in photo 3&4. wired wheels are terrible for hamsters and gerbils feet. in photo 2 there’s a sad fish who didn’t move. undocumented was also a fish who was ALIVE but trapped under several fallen plants. also undocumented was a bottom feeder eating a dead fish. please make changes and give these animals better lives!
The minimum enclosure size for adult gerbils is 1200 cm2, with a minimum floor area per gerbil of 150 – 250 cm2, depending on body weight. 20 gallon tank with 7 or more at Patti’s Grooming. I couldn’t not not say anything
She really needs to research the animals she sells. She still keeps hermit crabs in tanks with dry sand, no heat, no humidity and just a sponge water source. The fish tanks were dirty and I'm pretty sure the puppies are from a puppy mill.
Fish are kept in really bad water. Smells horrible. Bought fish about 6 months ago and I put them in an established tank with good water. They were lethargic and died in two days. Went in a couple days ago to buy ich treatment for my fish, it was overpriced but there aren't any options in town other than WalMart and it wasn't available there. She was too busy taking pictures of her new fish that arrived that were still in bags to ring me up (bag are why the fish were still alive probably). The little dog that was there running loose was limping around and constantly shaking.
